THE ZOMBIE ANT EXPERIENCE

This interdisciplinary project culminated in an interactive exhibit, combining physical artwork, augmented reality and award-winning life science research on zombie ants.

 

DESCRIPTION: The intricate metal sculpture details the life span of a parasitic fungus that infects ants, complete with an augmented reality (AR) overlay that lets you step into the world of the zombie ants. Design visualization specialist Daryl Branford brought in Talley as the Huck Institute for the Life Sciences first Artist-in-Residence, to collaborate on this project.
