EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT CORRIDOR SCULPTURE

2021

Vines and leaves reveal hidden animals and insects, engaging those who visit the children’s emergency department.

ARTIST’S INSIGHT: The Penn State Health team was interested in a fun, colorful, and engaging wall piece to fill the corridor outside of the children’s emergency department. Families and children often travel through this hallway, which is filled with natural light and inviting window seats. The botanical vine and leaf design is accentuated by hidden animals and insects for the children to find within the sculpture. By overlaying the perforated and solid aluminum, a feeling of depth is created while still keeping the elements close to the wall.
