ARTIST INSIGHT: Translating elements of my suspended sculpture into a wall piece required some creative research. The pieces had to be dynamic yet set close to the wall to avoid becoming an obstruction. Metal stand-offs allowed me to secure the elements to wall while maintaining and highlighting their curves and undulations. I find the mounting style is sleek enough to make the petals seems as if they are floating in mid-air, something that I would like to utilize in future projects.
